A weekend around town - Riding the bike

The weekend is upon us, the September weather is great... we take the bike out and ride around to find some fun and exciting things to do...

The Bike

Our Ride:
Our trip started at home at Kenwood street, heading in the opposite way of traffic (but we were on a bike after all). Right on Harvard street, left on Lawton street, and on to Commonwealth Ave, down the hill... Over the BU bridge and on to Memorial drive, to see the Charles river full of activity.

From there we ran into the Cambridge International Carnival:

On to the Park, a ride on the river:

From across the street I saw a beautiful bird landing on a branch very close, and it was large. I quickly stopped and took Mika by the hand to see it up close:
We were right under it, giving us the look

Then it took off right above us:

Well the hawk left and so did we...
Stopped by the MIT Track for some exercise before lunner
The Track:

Week 54: Faceless Portrait

Assignment: Faceless Portrait

This week (I skipped a few weeks but will catch up in time), the assignment is to take a portrait of someone or even yourself. It must not show their face, but should show some part of their body. Try to include something that tells something about their personality or the environment they are in.

So here is one that tells me not only about the personality but also the environment and the action about to happen: Red shoes, colorful flowers, white short dress...
Wedding at the park - Boston Common

A park is not complete without the balloon man and some music:

And relaxing on the lawn:
